Koigu, a yarn company based outside of Toronto, is very well known among knitters. It has long been known for their gorgeous, hand-painted yarns, available in hundreds of color combinations. Their groundbreaking KPPPM (Koigu Painter’s Palette Premium Merino) made knitters reconsider their usual worsted wools. Knitters now have the option of using this smooth, fingering-weight, merino yarn. Each skein is an individual masterpiece, with beautiful hand-painted hues, and using it is like like knitting with watercolors. However, knitters who don’t enjoy using tiny needles (around US 3) have not yet been able to experience the joys of working with it.
Koigu Bulky has all the same qualities that we love about KPPPM. It is 100% Merino Wool. It’s hand-painted in small batches. But it comes with one big difference: it’s thicker! This chunky weight yarn knits up at 3 stitches to the inch on US 10-11 needles. This means your projects will be finished much quicker.
