Have you ever wanted to be a Peruvian alpaca farmer/shepherd? Guiding your fluffy sheep and other woolly animals over the South American mountains? Wearing a brightly colored poncho with bobbles and pompons, entirely made by you?
No? Just me then? Fine. (Sigh.)
For those of you who’d rather knit the wool than grow it out, we have a new, beautiful sport-weight yarn called Nuna by Marisol. Spun from a combination of Merino Wool, Silk, and Bamboo-sourced Viscose, it has a fantastic sheen while being luxuriously smooth. Not only that, Marisol works to support the tradition of shepherding and yarn spinning by local communities, as well as dedicates a portion of every purchase to a nearby Peruvian school.
So when you wear that Nuna Sweater and turn everyone green with envy, you can think about your connection to Peru and feel worldly. And possibly consider your recurring ambition to raise alpacas– no? Really? I’m the only one?

If you're in the city this weekend for Bay to Breakers (or just escaping the heat) check out this art yarn installation at the Old Mint Building.
The project will be at the Old Mint for one week only.
