We are gearing up for some fun exciting classes this month! On Sunday January 13th, The fabulous knitwear designer Kira K will be teaching 2 classes at Fashion Knit!
First up is a class on how to embellish your knitting with beads! She will show you how to do a beaded cast on as well as 4 different methods for adding beads to almost any existing knitting, to add some sparkle and flair to your favorite knitting designs!
$30 – January 13th, 2012 11AM-1PM
Bring knitting needles in size 4-6 and $10 cash or check for materials fee. Yarn, beads, beading needles and crochet hook are included in materials fee.
Next up is “Fixing Mistakes” While dropping your stitches or finding mystery holes in your knitting can be scary, come let Kira show you how to fix many common mistakes as well as some uncommon ones!
$30 – January 13th 2-4PM
Materials list : 50 yards smooth worsted or aran weight yarn, knitting needles in a size appropriate for your yarn, circular knitting needles 5 or more sizes smaller than you main needles, crochet hook in a size appropriate for your yarn.
Kira K is a Bay Area based knitwear designer and teacher with her own line of designs, which emphasize a streamlined and eminently wearable aesthetic. She often draws inspiration from her knowledge of vintage styles picked up during her years as a theatrical costume designer.
