The Hexagon Socks
Guest Instructor: Sandi Rosner
Saturday, November 17, 11-2p 1 – 3 hour class $60.00
The Hexagon Socks on the cover of Think Outside the SOX are an exciting and innovative design by Kirsten Hall. Come learn to make a pair for yourself! In this class you’ll learn all you need to know to make these socks, plus some handy tips not included in the pattern. By the time we’re done, you’ll be well on your way to making Hexagon Socks that will impress knitters and non-knitters alike!
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner. Your should be able to knit, purl, cast on, bind off, increase, decrease and be comfortable working in the round on double pointed needles, two circular needles or magic loop. It is not required that you have complete socks before.
Supplies: A 50 or 100 gram skein of sock weight yarn. You’ll need 100 grams to complete the pair, but we won’t use that much in class. This pattern is well suited to self-striping sock yarns. A copy of the book Think Outside the SOX (XRX Books, 2010). Size 1(2.25 mm) knitting needles in the style of your choice – straight, 2 circular, or 1 long circular for magic loop. The usual knitting notions, including a tapestry needle and small crochet hook. Paper and pencil for taking notes.
