Announcing Sandi Rosner – Guest Workshops

We are very pleased to announce a set of workshops on Saturday, September 22 featuring designer and author Sandi Rosner.  Space is limited, so call or stop by early to enroll.

Making the Most of Self-Striping Yarns

Guest Instructor: Sandi Rosner

Saturday, September 22                              10:30 to 1:30pm 

Cost: $60                                                                                       

The market is full of yarns that are dyed to make lovely stripes.  Learn to take advantage of these yarns to produce beautiful flattering garments.  You will learn to analyze the stripe patterns so you can predict and control your results.  Break free from horizontal stripes and see what happens with vertical, diagonal and modular patterns.  3-hour workshop

Skill Level:  Easy

Beyond the Rectangle – Fun Shapes for Shawls and Wraps Guest Instructor: Sandi Rosner

Saturday, September 22                              2:30 to 5:30pm Cost: $60                                                                                       

Shawls and wraps are fun to knit and lovely to wear.  Learn to break out of the rectangular box and create shawls that hug your shoulders in the form of half circles, V-shapes, triangles and more.  Practice creating curves and corners and learn the simple intuitive geometry that underlies all these shapes.  3-hour workshop

Skill Level:  Intermediate

 

About Sandi Rosner

Sandi is the author of Not Just Socks, Not Just More Socks and Not Just Socks for Kids. Her designs and articles have appeared in Twist Collective, Knitter’s, Interweave Knits and Knit ‘n Style.  As a designer, she has worked with a number of yarn companies, including Alchemy Yarns, Kollage Yarns, Classic Elite, Nashua Handknits, Crystal Palace, Universal Yarns, Lana Grossa and Jamieson’s Shetland.  In her role as a technical editor, Sandi draws on her experience as both a teacher and former yarn store owner to help independent designers and yarn companies avoid the pattern issues that commonly cause problems for knitters.  Sandi is the head technical editor for Twist Collective and a member of the editing team for Knitter’s Magazine.  Sandi’s classes at Stitches events are always packed with returning students who come back year after year to spend a few fun hours leaning something new.
