Made a mistake in your knitting a few rows back but not good at picking up live stitches after frogging a couple of rows? Here's the solution: Pick up stitches before ripping back! Here's how: Identify the row below the row you will want to start re-knitting. Insert your needle under the first strand of yarn in the V that makes up the first stitch of the row on the right side. Continue this down the row, picking up the first strand of yarn in the V and skipping the second leg of the V. These V's will be easy to see if you're working in stockinette. If you're working in garter, stretch your knitting a little bit and you'll be able to see the V that's under the bump in the fabric. Once you have your needle inserted all the way along the row, you can pull the working yarn to rip back the rows above the needle and you'll be ready to keep going!
